Sometimes we encounter situations where daily routine collapses, and within those situations one might proactively perform in order to exist. Artist Fang Lu call this state, which is characterized by the necessity to behave and perform in abnormal circumstances, “situated reality,” since through the irruption of daily logics and pragmatism, one’s consciousness emerges and heightens. The creation of these peculiar moments in art brings the possibility and joyfulness of the unknown. In her talk Fang Lu will discuss and present some of her video projects to expand from this idea.
