Spectral Layers in Narration and Materiality

Artist Talk with Daniel Laufer and Hili Perlson

Join us for a conversation between international artist-in-residence Daniel Laufer (Berlin) and writer and critic Hili Perlson (Berlin).

Working with film, installation, text, and painting, Daniel Laufer’s practice interweaves staged imagery, historical inquiry, and poetic speculation. His films and spatial narratives unfold within carefully constructed environments, navigating the interplay between theatricality and the cinematic medium. Through his multi-layered approach, Laufer reflects on how stories travel across time and place; how memory, imagination, and material traces overlap, accumulate, and occasionally contradict one another.

In dialogue with art critic Hili Perlson, he will discuss his narrative strategies, his engagement with scenography, and the cinematic logic that shapes his visual worlds.

The talk will be in English.
