Elad Rosen

Elad Rosen’s large scale rich and colorful paintings deal with slapstick, dark humor and an almost fake sense of angst. Old-school video games, art history and cartoons are used as reference points for the composition building and image choice on the canvases. The paintings maintain a humorous vertigo or perhaps a vertigo-esque sense of humor, and were described by one critic as “adequately depressing”.
Elad Rosen was born 1980, lives and works in Tel Aviv. He is the winner of the 2010 Osnat Mozes painting award for a young artist. Alongside his studio work he is also an art teacher and engages in curatorial work.
