Eden Bannet
Eden Bannet (b. 1980) is a visual artist living and working in Tel Aviv. She holds a BFA from the Department of Fine Arts at Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design, Jerusalem, and studied at the Slade School of Fine Art in London as part of a student exchange program.
Bannet is a multidisciplinary artist working across sculpture, installation, photography, and painting on paper. Her work examines familiar, everyday environments as sites where traces of human existence are discovered and made visible. She focuses on the dynamic relationship between aesthetic and sensory experience and the social dimensions of personal and collective memory, as embodied in objects, materials, actions, colors, forms, and spaces.
Her practice traces the visual manifestations of processes of transformation, movement, use, construction, and destruction within urban and social environments, particularly those associated with craft and production. Her installations combine found objects, remnants, and industrial materials with handmade sculptural elements, functioning as temporary spaces of occurrence, like frozen choreographies that are dismantled once the exhibition ends.
Bannet has exhibited in solo and group exhibitions at galleries and museums in Israel and internationally. She has participated in residency programs including the Cité internationale des arts in Paris, supported by the Israeli Ministry of Culture (2014), and a residency in Naples hosted by MADRE Museum of Contemporary Art (2009).
She received the Plumas Foundation Artist Grant (2024), as well as grants for solo exhibitions and special projects from Mifal HaPais, the Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality’s Special Projects Fund, and the Yehoshua Rabinovich Foundation for the Arts (2016, 2022, 2023, 2025). Her works are held in public and private collections in Israel and abroad, including the Tel Aviv Museum of Art, the Haaretz Collection, and the Haifa Museum of Art.
Bannet is the recipient of the Israeli Ministry of Culture Young Artist Award (2014), the Ministry of Culture Award for the Encouragement of Creative Art (2019), and the Rappaport Foundation Acquisition Grant for the Tel Aviv Museum of Art collection (2020).
