Yakira Ament
Yakira Ament (b. 1994, Brooklyn, New York) is a multidisciplinary artist living and working in Haifa. Her practice spans drawing, sculpture, painting, and movement, through which she explores the relationship between material transformation and the bodily subconscious.
Inspired by dream states and inward attention, Ament creates intuitive spaces that appeal to the senses and to a collective psychological realm. Her works engage with the complexity of human experience through hybrid imagery that moves between the body, nature, and an internal mythology.
Ament graduated with highest honors from both the BFA and MFA programs at Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design. She is the recipient of the 2024 Young Artist Award from the Israeli Ministry of Culture and Sport, a 2024 Plumas Foundation grant, and the 2022 Lukman Prize for Excellence, among others. In 2025, she participated in a residency program in New York with the support of Artis, as well as a studio residency at Pyramid, Haifa. In 2026, she took part in a sculpture residency in Japan.
Her work has been presented in solo exhibitions in Shigaraki, Japan, at Hezi Cohen Gallery, and at the Artists’ Studios in Tel Aviv, as well as in group exhibitions at major institutions in Israel, including the Haifa Museum of Art, Petach Tikva Museum of Art, the Kupferman Collection House, and the Tikotin Museum of Japanese Art. Her works are held in the collection of the Tel Aviv Museum of Art and in private collections in Israel and abroad.
